Working together we can make Berkeley better. Key to improving our city is increasing the role and voice of our neighborhoods.
• Too many of the city’s efforts and dollars are spent appeasing developers.
• Too many empty storefronts are a symbol of the failed policies of politics-as-usual.
• We don’t need more new taxes to provide better services, we need higher standards and accountability for the services the city provides.
• As someone who proudly graduated from Berkeley’s public schools, I am committed to working with the school district to give all students the tools and opportunities to succeed.
• I believe we can best address our growing crime problem by helping the police department institute community policing.
• I have always been committed to the environment, victory gardens, shared public spaces, and more neighborhood involvement in the decision making process.
Working together we can build a permanent framework for engaging, participating in, and directing the city’s actions. When our work is done a network of community organizations will be the power that guides this district.
Your dreams, ideals and inspiration are what will make this work for all of us.
